Are you interested in learning/improving your Spanish? The Portland Central America Solidarity Committee and the Portland Restaurant Workers Association are organizing Spanish Language classes and Conversation classes to build Spanish language skills within our membership and to improve our organizing and outreach capacity with native Spanish speakers in our workplaces/communities.
However, these classes are open to everyone who is interested in
developing their Spanish language skills and who is committed to the
struggle for workers rights and social justice.
So if you are a native English speaker and want to work on your
Spanish or if you are a native Spanish speaker and want to work on your
English, this is a great opportunity to improve your language skills!
Three levels will be offered, beginner, intermediate, and
conversational. The first session of classes will take place on Monday
nights from 6:30-8:30pm from September 15-December 1. Location is
still to be decided.
The curriculum will be developed based on the interests of the
students (attendance at first class is mandatory). The cost is sliding
scale $15-50/month and will go towards reimbursing teachers for their
time and materials.
If you are interested in joining the class, please click here to obtain a registration form. The deadline for
registering for the first class is September 1.
