Bush Brings "Open Markets and Open Government" To Latin America...

Protests are greeting President Bush on every stop during his 5 country tour of Latin America.

Bush's claims that free trade can be fixed and lift the poor from poverty were contested by the massive demonstrations that have greeted Bush in Brazil and Colombia.

800 plus Freightliner workers in Portland aren't the only people angry about NAFTA-style free trade agreements. Brazil's main union federation, the Central Unica de Trabajadores de Brasil (CUT), was joined by President Lula's very own Workers Party (PT) in marches against Bush's free trade and war-driven agenda. Lula faces criticism within his own party for embracing Bush and negotiating a pact on ethanol production.
